Composition, arranging and engraving:

I've been composing and arranging for over a decade and my work has been performed at festivals, concert halls and school across Australia, New Zealand and Canada. I've written for symphony orchestra, concert band, string orchestra, chamber groups, violin, solo guitar, and college percussion ensembles.

“Michael was able to bring to life something we’d always dreamed about but knew was a monumental task - he made sense of our complex music and was sensitive about where to add layers and were to support our arrangements. With a professional approach and a creative ear, we couldn’t be happier with Michael’s results.”

Joe Gould. The Crooked Fiddle Band

“I have been commissioning Michael O’Donnell to write pieces for my primary and high school orchestras every year since 2015. From from his solo works to the ensemble pieces, your students will gain not only valuable skills for their own development on their instrument, but have the best time leaning his unique and catchy tunes.”

- Monique Turner, Emmanuel College

“Michael transcribed and engraved several pieces for my project The Melbourne Tune Collection. He worked extremely quickly to meet my upcoming deadline and I couldn't be happier with the results. Michael has the rare skill set of being both highly attentive to detail and quick to meet deadlines.”

- Kate Olevnikov, Melbourne Tune Collection

“I really enjoyed working with Michael for his creativity, enthusiasm and professionalism. His arrangements for 15 piece chamber group of my songs fit perfectly with my aesthetic."
